I'd like to delete all the sounds n presets I don't like

I'd like to delete all the sounds n presets I don't like and super simplify my choices.

Of course I'll build my own and develop a relationship with my choices. That's my plan.

Simply delete? Is there nothing to consider as far as upgrade frustrations? Just don't take the sounds with it? and..... ?

Cheers!

I too would like to do this.
But! It seems that you can not, Like you could in Live 8. A step back in my opinion. :x
inside Live 8 You could click preferences, library, Click Uninstall any unwanted Live Packs to your harts desires.

I have tried to delete from the user content in by right click show package content Applications/Contents/core Library/here you will find the content that could be deleted. This process is on the MAC by the way.

However when I have tried this. It will be reinstalled when I up date live to a more stable version. (more time wasted) :x :x

I find 99% of the content useless to me. I find it an overwhelming distraction. I can appreciate that it will be very usfull for other people.

I think it will be great for people like myself to have the option!, Not install the live content and presets. :D I have found that people have requested this by posts else where on the forum.
Come on Ableton please listern to us.

Maybe the only way to get through is to contact Ableton directly yourself. :|

Funk N. Furter wrote:Live 9 only comes with a tiny core library, so the other stuff is optional.

I still would like to have the option not to install the core library.

shit's annoying as fuck, right?

i only use the "user library" area when browsing. I keep that organized the way i always have and it works ok. Not a fan of the new browser at all though. ableton made some very odd choices with it. Like why can i only have one folder open at a time in the browser tree? WTF was the point of changing that behavior?

.lm.

I never said the program was perfect, I only said that YOUR complaints were and still are ludicrous.

Go fuck yourself.

leisuremuffin! cheers mate. Haven't seen you around in a while. Tho i'm never in this room. Thanx for moderating this thread :P

Umm, well, fuck! That's a rats ass of a problem then. I was hoping the same with the new browser since it's a new browser and all :x I'm really a minimalist with my sounds and I don't do straight up electronic which makes for a helluva mess to get through.

This request is an anti-feature so I wouldn't hold our breaths. meh

Here's my workaround:

I just dumped the live 8 core library and I feel ten pounds lighter.

^ cheers

Deleting the 8 library was a good move. Abes is treating the 8Lib in 9 like a red-headed step child anyway.

They like packs, now I like packs. It's making sense now.

I believe you can hold Shift and click to open more folders, still annoying..

wow thanks, i had no idea. it's actually command click on mac.

That doesn't really solve my problem though because i became accustomed to using whether or not a folder was open or closed to tell me if i had already used the contents of the folder during a performance. i mean, i guess if i was super careful to always use the command key, but that seems like a losing proposition. one misclick would reset all but one of the folders to closed.

also super annoying is how the behavior for creating a new folder has changed in the browser. If you want to make a new folder, right clicking will only allow you to make a new folder in a subfolder of the open browser window, not in the parent directory. and right clicking on a location in the "places" pane does not allow for creating a new folder.

i dont think the browser is going to change any time soon, so i will have to change my work flow. the hilarious thing is that i will now probably just use the osx finder to drag my files in and create folders. so ableton adding their great new browser actually forces me to go outside of the software to get the functionality i have come to expect. that's horseshit.
