Wow. This has been a big week (two weeks?) for audio software on the iPad.

Next question is: Will we be able to use this with M4L?
iMac, MacBook Pro, Live Suite, Reason, Logic Pro, Melodyne, FL Studio, iConnect Audio4+, Little Martin, ukelele, Greco gtrs, pedalboard, amps, mics .

god damn those 50$ apps...

since it's only being sold at teh appstore..
I'm assuming it will work with Max and therefore with m4l (which is max limited in an Ableton shell).

Testing it now with M4L and it works, although it seems buggy. Lost connection a couple of times and it doesn't seem to handle making multiple Mira tabs in a patch very well. I'm sure improvements will be made in the M4L area.

Being able to control a live.dial on a touchscreen is pretty sexy though. 8)

Stringtapper, thanks for being a guinea pig -- I'd appreciate if you posted more general thoughts about the app. I don't see myself buying it in the very near future, as I don't use a lot of Max stuff, but I am curious all the same.

The most striking thing about it is how instantaneous it all is. There is two-way feedback between what you do with the patch and the iPad. So when you drag an object into the tab area you see it move into place on the iPad screen in real time. This really sets Mira apart from other solutions like Lemur because there is no file to save beforehand and load, Mira just looks for how many [mira.frame] objects exist in any patches and creates tabs for each of them. So all you load is your Max patch, Mira does the rest. Very smart way to do it.

It seems like there are some kinks to work out with M4L integration but once they have, Mira will probably be the way to control M4L devices. The fact that you can already some of the live.* objects tells me they have more in store. And you will be able to make it look just like your device as well. One could conceivably remake an entire app like Touchable but make it look just like Live running on an iPad!

What it isn't is a way to patch directly on the iPad, which would be a wet dream for many of us Max users. It's strictly a GUI generator to control patches, albeit the most integrated with the host software yet.

The good news is C74 never stop working so its only going to get better. :D

The package is just Max projects and patches. They will work on Windows.

You don't need Max to use a Lemur, this doesn't make the Lemur redundant.

That's true. It's a silly title in that regard.

That said, Mira offers an unparalleled level of connectivity with Max.

max is built-in to Live Suite so it's redundant for me at least.
plus I'm a lot handier when building in Max than the Lemur editing methods

but yeah.. I see what you mean :D

You know that the Lemur isn't just for Max, right? I don't use Max and I've been using the Lemur since 2006.
