9.0.6 appeared to work fine, but then had problems with the ableton index process hanging, missing samples, granulator not working and multiple broken VSTs. Jbridge 0.76, even bought 32 Lives for 32 to 64 bit bridging RC1 and the same VSTs or AUs had these slow GUI problems, each bridged by different methods in both 9.1b24 and 9.0.6. Several of these bridged VSTs GUIs became extremely slow to react. grr. Most VSTs and AUs bridged or otherwise worked well. Indexing process now working, some bridged VSTs or AUs won't.

So I've got my new MacBook pro. Preparing to transfer data. Apple assures me that if I do a time machine backup to an external drive from my 2008 iMac (upgraded to Mountain Lion) then plug that into my MacBook, that this will be the best way to bring my data AND programs.

Does that make sense for Ableton Suite? Sure would be easier than a fresh install...

Thanks for any help.
Yep, should work fine, that's how I'd do it too.

Revolt - Only had a brief play with 9.06 since upgrading, but so far not seeing any issues.

Netgear ReadyNAS NV+

Now back on the Mac after a successful Time Machine recovery, but firmware on 1.13 for Push (9.1), push doesn't show up as connected to Live, so now need to work out how to downgrade the Push firmware back to 1.10 (9.0.6)...

Read this, but the Dump isn't available in 9.0.6 so looks like I'll have to download the Beta again... :) and reset the Track/Sync/Remote for a bunch of things...:)

Ah well, all back on 10.8.5 with 9.06 and 9.1b24 all installed and working with all controllers. Big thanks to the SSD inside for making the rebuilds quick.

If I can be of any help to others through this pain, sorry process, feel free to ask.

Now to get back to making music.

I am running Mavericks...

All is fine in Ableton land, including use of all plugins and interfaces (novation sl mk2 controller, NI audio kontrol interface).

Also: I regularly use J-Bridge to run Sylenth and Synlpant among others in Ableton 64bit, and it's working just fine, so I'm not sure why peeps are having trouble with J-Bridge in mavericks..smooth sailing over here.

Hi,

One thing that haven't come across in this thread but seems rather relevant is the question/issues about authorisation migration.

I can imagine that alot of people are doing a clean install of Mavericks (very wise imho !) and then use Migration Assistant to migrate all stuff of their older system to their new Mavericks system.
But how does this migrate proces keeps up with migrating all your plugin (and Ableton Live etc.) authorisations ?
And ofcourse i don't mean authorisations that reside on some kind of usb dongle (ilok etc.)
For one thing, i noticed that authorisations from Native Instruments stuff aren't migrated, so i had to authorize all my NI stuff again (quite a pain..).

I am anxious to hear from people that do / have done the migration proces and experienced losses of authorisations for their plugins etc.
I can imagine that if you have a ton of legal plugins on your old system and you have to re-authorize them all on your new Mavericks system, that's gonna be a drag.

Best & hope 2 hear from you !

I'm planning on installing it on the laptop here. I bought it around the time my last project dried up so it's mainly just installed with a ton of applications and plug ins I use for music and work, no data to speak of or unused preferences etc. so I'm definitely not doing a "clean instal". 8O

Whenever I've done a restore from Time Machine, or transferred my user data from Time machine during a clean install, I've never had to re-authorize any of my apps. They all worked just like before. The only time I've had an issue with this is when reinstalling on a repaired MBP, maybe they replaced my mainboard or the display. That seems to trigger reauthorization.

^ if they replace your logic board it Definitly messes with your authorizations.

looks like alot off folks have plunged into 10.9 with descent results for Live 9.0.6...
today may be the day.

any last reports/objections aside from these i've come across here and there:
Live browser indexing problems,
some obvious 32/64bit issues around,
on abletons facebook page, there were a couple reports of full system freeze (tho that may be the puter not Live)

Sweet transition from Mountain Lion to Mavericks.
Everythings works perfect. Live 9.1 , reaktor,absynth, fm8, massive...
Audio card:Saffire 24 pro works perfect too, without any problem.

The only thing i noticed: Every video i saw on vimeo now, has the audio with glitches.I think it,s something with the flash module, or something with this particular reproductor.Soundcloud works fine.

Everything is more smooth and i,m very happy.

Just updated.

OS 10.9
15" Retina Macbook Pro (Feb 2013)
512 ssd
16gb ram

running Ableton 9.0.6.
M- Audio Profire 610 (running on 10.8.4 driver)
all plugs VST/AU also running fine so far.

surprisingly untroubled update – so far.

A known issue that has emerged in the last couple days, seems to be with Mavericks generally, in any case it's being reported by owners of new Macbook pro's, like me who are facing this:

http://www.macrumors.com/2013/10/28/own ... ll-issues/

Peeps may want to hold off updating until Apple fixes this.

Akai have NOT updated their drivers for EIE Pro for Mavericks yet. The EIE Pro will NOT work with Mavericks at the moment. Apparently there was a similar issue with Akai EIE Pro drivers and the update to Mountain Lion, it took them a couple of weeks to release a working driver. Looks like they didn't learn from that lesson and dropped the ball on this one as well. Not what I would call the kind of customer support you would expect from a supposedly professional company.
I'm glad I have my old Edirol FA-66, which works fine with Mavericks thanks very much. At the moment my EIE Pro is a brick (albeit a brick with nice illuminated VU meters and USB Hub functionality, but considering I purchased it as an AUDIO INTERFACE...still a brick)

I'm curious as to what happens with Rewired apps, especially where Live is the slave app. The news is that Mavericks provides better battery life with backward applications being throttled down. As you can imagine, this might create issues where you have two apps rewired. Which app gets throttled down? How does it work?

I so wish Apple allowed me to throttle my CPU any way I want like Windows does. That way, when I'm making music, I would leave it on full, and when I am surfing for turtle porn, I can throttle back to half.
