Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
Confirming no issues with Mavericks and Live 9, Macbook Pro 2011, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. I did not do a clean install because I wanted to get right back to work. The installer does a really good job of cleaning up the older install, so I don't think I'm missing much by not doing a clean install. Case in point, my hard drive used up 8GB of LESS SPACE after Mavericks installed, so Mavericks did clean up old cache files and what not.
Note, during the install, I did get a hang, but I think this might have been a driver issue because my MBP was connected to an external non-Apple monitor via thunderbolt. I restarted the computer with nothing attached to the laptop, and the install process restarted, no issues. The download of 5.62GB took about 45 minutes, and the installation took another 40 minutes.
Love the new Activity Monitor screen. Gives some practical readouts on memory usage and energy usage.

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
I stick with 9.0.6, but I have no doubt the beta will work fine based on the comments I've read from others. I think with a new OS, the biggest issue is usually driver and hardware issues. Mavericks seems to be ok on both.
A couple of apps didn't work, but again, they aren't a big deal, and updates are already available for newer versions.

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
the only issue i have left with Mavericks is the VPN software Tunnelblick does not appear to work properly with it.
i have not experienced any of the other headaches with DAWs etc that other users are reporting.
sorry guys, but good luck. i hope your issues are all resolved quickly.

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
Quicktime has some issues with playing back through the Saffire Pro 40. An MKV will play just fine using Apple's stock sound card, but not with firewire audio devices. There are a ton of audio stutters and it generally sounds like ass.
This is easily remedied with using VLC, but just want to be clear that Preview and Quicktime does indeed create issues. This is a fix that needs to occur between Apple and Focusrite.

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
Live 9.0.6 currently kernel panics my machine if I try to export audio (though strangely, internal recording appears to work). Unfortunately, I can't be sure if this is an issue with Mavericks or with my new laptop. Either way, the 9.1 beta fixes it, so I'm in good shape. No other issues that I've found so far, but I've not run through every little thing in my entire setup.
