Hi There,

Question: Is it possible to link clips? So If clip x is triggered clip y would start also?

Background:
Im composing midi clips which must be triggered in sync with certain audio clips. I could off course copy the midi mapping of my controller of the corresponding audio clips to my midi clips and thus make shure that they are triggered in sync but if there is a way to link to clips to each other this would make the ableton set more flexible and it would take less time to configure...

The audio files are all ready midi mapped to a controller. This is a given and working the other way around: starting the the audio clip from the midi file is not an option.

Have you tried arranging them on the same row of a scene ad then triggering the entire scene?

The thing is that its not my Ableton set. The set is done audio wise and the audio clips are midi mapped to the controller. I'm inserting midi files afterwards and they have to play in sync with audio files when the audio clips are triggered. I cant bother the owner of the Ableton set with a question to alter his work method or rearrange his Ableton set. The midi clips I insert must copy the behavior of the audio clips as they are leading.

Jep, i have m4l. I need the following: when clip number 1 of the audio track is triggered I need clip number 1 of the midi track to trigger automatically. They can be always aranged next to each other and at the same height in the grid. Does your plugin make this possible?

i guess so. Put your midi midi track to the right of the audio track. Put the device in the midi track.

Use this one.
You can actually drop the device wherever you want. And this version allows you to slave any track to any track. Default state is inactive. When transport is stopped, it won't respond : i don't know how to avoid this, if anyone can help ? (observers stop observing when transport is not running)

How do I convert this txt to a m4l object?


Sorry for the noob-ness.

It's not an object, it's a patch. Copy the whole thing, then create a new m4l audio effect. Clear everything in the new patcher then paste into it. Save it.
(FYI it's done by selecting an area in a patcher, then clicking on edit/copy compressed).

When I click the edit button on a generic m4l patch in ableton max tries to start and crashes. When I have the max runtime app open in the background and I click the edit button it opens and then max crashes... No its not an illegal version...

Google did not come up with a fast answer. Any thoughts?

When I use the clip linker.amxd you linked to in one of your previous posts i can place it on a track but the selected track are not linked...

Which version of both live and max ?
One thing for sure : i wouldn't have max runtime running when editing m4l patches.
otherwise simply download it from maxforlive.com.

Max 6 and Ableton 8.4.1... Don't want to upgrade to Ableton 9 because the show is run on Ableton 8...
