Inconsistent Midi Controller recognition

Post by re:dream » Fri Jul 12, 2013 6:31 am

So I have two MIDI controllers set up:

(1) An little AKAI LD8
(2) An AKARI MPD32

Both are plugged into the computer permanently.

When I start up Live, it instantly recognizes the LD8. If I twist a button etc, it immediately picks up the signal

But the MPD 32 I has to be unplugged and replugged before it is recognized.

What gives? Why are they behaving differently?

Any advice would be appreciated

I have exactly the same issue with an AKAI MPK Mini in Live 9, it is always recognize as a control surface even if I don't ask for it ... My other USB/MIDI controllers don't have this strange behavior. I think, it's a kind of bug ...

i hate that blue hand - my uc33 gets "recognised" as a uc33e even after I select none in the prefs list - always comes back the next time i start up Live.

Hmm now that Mister Push is here 8) the problem may be irrelevant. Push grabs all the midi controls on my instruments very nicely. I might retire the MPD32 for a bit
