what soundcard you using?

If you use the internal soundcard, you will experience all kinds of problems unless you install a program called ASIO4ALL (google it).

Did you set the driver to asio?

also how many tracks are you running, if you are using many tracks, set the clips to load into RAM in the clip settings.

Hey, I'm a mac user. I just wanted to fish out the details to expedite the process when someone who can help you pops in!

Good Luck,

XP pro was the last PC operating system I ran before I switched to OSX, but I never dared invest in audio equipment when I had it, as my computer was buggy. Think it ended up being the ram, funny how I had it troubleshooted by a robotics dude who works at NASA now, and all he could say was: "I use redhat, windows is inconsistant" when I think my pops found mushrooms growing on the memory stick when I gave him the computer... so I'm not dissing microsoft (in this post.)

Put your reverbs on economy. lol j/k. Seriously Live is a great buy. You'll love yourself more for having it. 8)

use the latency test that's in the manual. you'll probably find that Live likes lower latencies than you are running. more like 10 or less ms.

my setup adds up to about 12 milliseconds, but is very good. And that is with a despisable m-audio (on OSX it seems) box!

try setting the latency to 128 or 256 and then work your way down until you get stuttering. Then go up by 30 percent and leave it there.
