i've never used an FTP app and I need one to upload some files to another site, what is the easiest thing to use?

there are several free/easy ftp clients out there. they all work pretty much the same. try SmartFTP

If you user firefox as your browser (which you should) you can get a free extension called FireFTP to upload and download files. it's pretty basic but does everything I need.
