Live 9: Disappearing Waveforms in session view.

Post by Upright » Sat Aug 10, 2013 9:33 pm

I'm getting disappearing waveforms in Session view... the clips play audio but I cannot see a waveform. It's happened to me 3 times in the past month or so.

Anyone else getting this occasionally?

THanks for the response. The projects I'm working in aren't necessarily "heavy" but they are long sessions with 10-14 audio tracks. CPU is at 17% though. :?

What do you mean with "disappearing"? Do the wav files just disappear and you get the "missing files" warning?

They aren't visible. Music plays plays fine....I just can't see the waveform. When I close Live and reopen the waveforms are there.

Is the clip disappearing, or just the waveform part of it?

The graphical waveform....clip is there and playing fine. But I cannot edit or see the waveform. Like I said, once I close/open Live it's back to normal.

I've seen this as well. But no rhyme or reason on how/why. Small sets, big sets. Doesn't happen very often, but when it does it's pretty confusing.

Just a long shot but maybe just try double clicking on the colored part of the clip itself?

Sometimes this happens to me, even on previous versions, and the double click seems to get the visual waveforms back.

This happens to me all the time. When I zoom way into the waveform it majikally reappears. Then when I zoom out, the waveform goes blank, or it goes blank across, like, 4/5ths of the display. Super annoying. I found that when I save my project and reopen, the waveforms reload again and everything views fine.

Mine disappears in both clip AND track views. Just happened to me now twice. I recorded something in a clip and it plays back as recorded, but half is a flat line. Clip view, track view, current project..... strange. I can hear the waveform just fine, it's just that half is missing, or flat if you will. Some sort of 9 buggyness. P'raps there will be a fix. I'm on 9.1 at least. 8% CPU so.....

I'm getting the EXACT same behavior. I never got this in Live 8

I've struggled with this for years, and only just worked out that I had 'create analysis file' unchecked within Preferences> File/Folder.

Just thought I'd share this simple fix

Thanks !!! Damn, this is from 2013 !
Anyway, it remains a bug to me. I don’t like having all these files in my folders.

I'm just now having this same issue.

After loading the session, some of the tracks aren't visible unless i zoom way in. I can hear everything fine, though.

None of the above suggestions seemed to work.

HOWEVER, The trick I found was to simply consolidate the parts of the track that were missing to try and give the system a kick in the pants. Annoying for sure, but at least it worked!!

Hope someone else finds this helpful :)
