Macro Knob Resolution

Post by marcoskohler » Tue Aug 13, 2013 2:55 am

I was always curious as to why the Macro Knobs range remains at 1 - 127 for 3rd part VST's. Why are we not able to choose our own resolution? Event though the range reads 1 - 127 in the GUI, if you type 67.6 (for example), the VST will register that exact decimal value.

They simplify it for use with midi controllers.

But I'd say you have a valid complaint. It'd be nice of they gave the option to have different resolutions.

The closest you can get otherwise is to set a min-max for that particular knob. Since in some cases you might not use the most extreme range that the control offers, it can give you a little more precision, but not that much better.
