Syncing ROLAND HD-1 to Live 9

Post by DrumSetMan19 » Mon Sep 09, 2013 5:53 am

Hello everybody!

I am trying to get my Roland HD-1 drum kit working with Ableton Live 9 Suite.

I have a USB to MIDI converter (iConnectivity mio) that registers with the PC and is recognized in the preferences tab of Live 9.

System: Windows 7, AMD processor

Other than that I have no idea how to program it in.

Here is the link for the HD-1 manual that contains the MIDI settings on page 21: ... id=1810979

Please Help me :)

The problem is that the HD-1 only has MIDI out.

This means that to sync to Live, the HD-1 would need to be master, and Live would need to be slave.

Unfortunately Live is not very good at slaving to external MIDI clock.

If the HD-1 had MIDI in, it would have been possible to run Live as master, but that's a limitation of your kit.

Maybe you receive Midi notes but there s no sound cause its nothing gets triggered?
Or do you receive no Midi at all?

If you got it sorted try my E-Dum to Impulse plug in -

i also have a roland hd1 and it works flawlessly in live9. just put your midi-cable in your audio-interface (if you have one) or use the midi-to-usb cable and it should trigger midi in live when you play on your drums. then you just need to load up a drum kit so you can hear the sound..
