Live devices mapping in Push:Community mapping is done! :)

We finished the community mapping we made for Lives devices in Push, it is very easy to install and first testers say it's amazing :-)

EDIT: In this thread you will find the explanation of how to change the default mapping of Lives devices that you see in Push! Please note that you will change it then also for any other midi remote surface you may use.
The procedure is explained in a post on page 7 by Stray (Metastatik in this forum).
On Page 1 you will find a list of all the available parameter names for each Live device, that you can use to change your mappings, Provided by Shadx. The method was successfully tested by syncr and Tedlogan.
This whole endeavor had a very community kinda feel to it. Yeah Internet :-)




Hey guys,

I'm trying to rearrange the default device parameter mapping of Lives devices, so I can change which page/bank in Push contains which parameter in what position/encoder.
I can already say I managed to do that (I will give detailed descriptions in an extra thread in the forum as soon as everything works). But during this endeavor I found out that there are device parameters in those default mappings that are neither midi assignable nor configureable. (Example: In Compressor, Push owners (or really any midi remote script using the default settings) can access the toggle of hearing the Side chain input only or the effected track. (The little headphone icon in the side chain section) But you can not Midi assign or configure it.
Since in order to change the default mapping to one of those "undocumented" parameters you have to know the exact name of the parameter, and those parameters don't necessarily have the same name as in the GUI, I'm now looking for a list of all (or just the undocumented ones) parameters of Lives devices. (I'm particularly interested in the parameters in Samplers', Aux Envelope and LFO 2/3 that concern Modulation Routing and Modulation Amount). If anyone has a list like this it would be VERY helpful!

But, I'm not really knowledgeable about clyphX yet, and if anyone of you already knows an easy solution, it would save me quite some time, lazy ass that I am ;-)

So, in order to get to the useful part of this topic, I'll just paste my queries starting with this reply.

Basically you aren't able to access the Sampler parameters you want (A/B Modulation amounts in the Modulation tab of the Sampler) but some might still find it useful to know what parameters are accessible with Live's native devices. I had to make a couple of ordering adjustments to my max patch so the queries were complete and consistent so it's all good now.
This is as of Live 9.0.6. I'll check 9.1 when Mercury is in retrograde.

I'm looking for the ones that are neither mapped or mappable by midi or configure (because that would give me the names).
I previously thought the others are out of the question, until I discovered that one default mapping (the Compresor one) is not otherwise mappable.
Now I hope (but don't know!) that others might be too (especially the ones I named). That's why I asked if anyone might have a list of those.

If such a list doesn't exist yet, clyphX user actions could be used to get the names:

I could probably manage that, but would have to learn it first, that's why I asked if maybe someone knows this stuff so well, that it would be trivial for him to find out, so I wouldn't have to, lazy ass that I am ;-)

I see. But I think this still spells bad news, as that means that LFOs 2 and 3 don't have those parameters that I want and so probably the Aux envelope (Ae) does neither. :(

Looking at that modulation page in Sampler and seeing which are the few parameters they left out to be accessible to controllers, I shake my head in disbelief :/

What's funny is that this probably means I will access them first during sound design (with a mouse :evil: ), because I don't wanna work without an Aux envelope or a second or third LFO, and changing them later would be very inconvenient.

I just thought that this thread will probably come up in a search of some future person looking for the full lists of things he can access in Live devices.
Depending on how difficult it was for you to get them, maybe you could do this for ALL of Lives devices and post it here?!
I would certainly point to this thread in my write-up of how I changed the default mapping for midi remote scripts. It would be an useful resource for the people also trying to do this.
Especially as it contains the parameters already in the correct formatting for Python scripts.
Just an idea...:-)
