Resources/Tutorials on EQing?

Post by TheNobleNemesis » Sun Oct 27, 2013 1:58 am

Good afternoon, Ableton forum users! These last months I learned quite a bit on compression and mixing, and now, under the advisement of a fellow producer, i'm considering expanding my skillset to learning about EQing in Ableton. As of now, I already know full well how to USE an EQ, just adding boosts and cuts to different frequencies, but I need to know how to master this skill. I need to learn how to use it effectively and productively. I know how to cut and boost frequencies, but I just really don't know all too much where to cut them. Once again, if anyone has resources, advice, or tutorials on the matter, I would greatly appreciate them! Thanks much!

Here's a couple good resources to get you started.

I've found also that most things you read in Tape Op magazine will probably be sound advice. The editors of that magazine are very well versed, and it's proven to be a great resource for many engineers and producers.

Hope that helps, cheers!
