new Live 9.1 update

Post by david.barker » Fri Nov 22, 2013 2:23 pm

Hi there

Since I bought Ableton,I have used 64 bit version of Live, upgraded no problems at all

I recently updated to Live 9,1 and been getting a lot crashes, and stalls. :(

I have done a clean install, and checked the correct file path for any files that might have remained, all good

Installed again,same thing. :(

I have sent crash reports and details of my system to Ableton support, and waiting to hear back

Anyone else has issues or found a solution

Im on a Windows 7 PC,

An update

Done another clean install and now its working,I did find a loose USB, connection.being not that computer savvy, wonder if that was causing an issue :?:

But now I have got to install my live packs, lest 9.1 is working now,

No problems here - Windows 7 64 - Ableton 9.1 64

Could well have been the USB causing an issue.

You could be right bud :)

Just completed a full test.and it all seems fine now

Very odd,put it down to that then I guess.I have done a full strip down and re-install of my PC,in the last few days

Just downloading a few of the live packs to my external drive

That second screen option is very welcome,

YOu know what's the best? I love how Ableton's updater installer destroyed my entire install of Ableton Suite 9. I told it to "Replace." I thought something was weird when it just rebooted Windows for no reason. Now? I went to launch Live. Only, there is no Live to launch. I let the resources folder and never even bothered installing the updated version. Talk about being pissed right now.

So,...now I get to go through all the setup again, the downloading of those stupid packs, etc.

@ inkblot:

when you say it [meaning ableton live updating process] rebooted windows.
you should say windows has rebooted because there was an hardware driver incompatibility issue.

I'm pretty sure you had kind of a bsod but maybe you have turned off the blue screen, then when windows encounters a problem it will reboot immediately without showing you the bsod report.

Check your drivers, maybe.
