Hey guys,

I've been spending a few hours looking for answers. Recently, I've noticed that upon saving my ableton project and then loading it again in another session, it seems like my VST settings wasn't back to the state when I saved it.

The one I notice that has this problem is NI's Reaktor 5 with Razor. When I load my project, it's back to Razor's default preset with no tweaks and it looks like all my work on this particular instrument in the previous session is gone.

I tried doing a new project and saving it and loading it back again, to the same effect.

Any ideas on what's happening and how to remedy this?

try to save the reaktor-instance containing Razor as an .ens in your NI-user-lib.

Can't say I have had this happen or read it here.

- Is the NI VST instrument a legit version? Cracked versions could suffer these issues.
- What happens if you load in the troubles VST with a loaded preset into an Instrument Rack then save that. Reload the instrument rack from the save... Does it retain the settings or default?
- What version of Live are you using?
- If you have the legal version of the NI VST, have you ensured it is updated via Service Center?
- Have you contacted NI support?

Are you midi or audio files? (I'm not familiar with Reaktor) -
I ask this, because it happens with a few of my plugins, including NI's Pro-53 Synth. I went crazy when it kept going back to the first preset 'Super Sync Lead'. Ok, so if it's midi talking about rather than audio file stuff, here's what resolved that for me :

1 - CMD-SHIFT-M to insert a blank midi clip before (to the left of) your midi clips on that particular track (I'm talking about Arrangement View only here - dunno about Session View, but just go with me on this) .....

2 - Select the blank clip, as well as the other clips and CMD-J to join them all up. Join them up!!

3 - Save whatever you did.

You should find that it solves the problem for you. Or did for me. And I went nuts over that for weeks. Often happens if you drag in midi clips from other sets, or especially .mid files.

If this works in this instance, I want eternal thanks. And an Italian Greyhound puppy.
