Bitwig 1.0

Post by Electric Blue Studios » Mon Dec 23, 2013 6:25 pm

From an email:

Greetings from the Bitwig Headquarters! We hope you've had a sensational 2013 and would like to take the opportunity to wish you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
We're currently approaching the last beta phase stages for our upcoming Bitwig Studio and want to send out a big thank you to all who helped with beta testing, sent in wishes and suggestions, or otherwise helped to improve and shape what we're working on.
It has been amazing to see so many people from all parts of the world and so many different walks of life contributing to bringing a new music-creation tool to life. We couldn’t be more thankful for the sheer amount of anticipation and interest we have experienced in the past 12 months! That said, our thanks also go out to those who have silently kept their fingers crossed for us while eagerly awaiting the Bitwig Studio 1.0 release.
If you have been following our project for some time now, you might already know that we originally planned to ship Bitwig Studio before the end of this year. Alas, we won't make it and would like to apologize for having to shift this time frame now to the beginning of 2014.
However, the wait is nearly over: We will kick it up a notch again after the holidays and are looking forward to attending NAMM in January, where we will announce the upcoming release date and pricing information for Bitwig Studio 1.0!

Hey i was thinking of printing some Kia email and taking it over to the Honda offices and taping it to the wall. Any tips for how to do this without coming off all douchey?

In some forums advertizing competing products gets you a warning and after a few of those you'll get banned.

It's not really competition for Live (or any other DAW)as a matter of fact. A person who has invested time, effort and cash into any DAW is unlikely to jump ship too quickly.

The hardest part for Bitwig will be getting new users as well as crossgrade users. The latter I can only see with a 30 free non-restricted trial and an extremely -earth shattering - crossgrade price.

I read someone's post on tumblr recently saying that they needed to get an MBP, Push and 'Ableton' because they needed to make music. Apparently they don't know what the fuck 'need' means, and/or just another kid following the herd for the wrong reasons.

I went to Florida for a week with the fams once and it was the week before spring break. The day I got back homies asked if I wanted to go to Panama City, so I told my parents I was going camping and went back and we ran into a bunch of friends, so we didn't have a problem finding places to crash. One day we started banging coins on the hotel balcony (Holiday Inn, shaped like a U if anyone recalls) and one friend played harmonica. Other people on balconies started clapping. Then more people came out. Then we decided to get pots and pans from the kitchen to bang on (and utensils for drum sticks) and brought them to the beach. For half a day we had kids following us as we kept going down the beach strip.
