Vocal Microphone Recommendations

Post by penguinpajamas » Mon Jan 06, 2014 1:36 am

Hey guys, I have some money left over from Christmas and am looking to buy a condenser microphone that would be ideal for vocals and sounds really great. My price range is ideally about $100 to $200 but I could probably go higher.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Charlie

The C1 is a great mic for vocals and definitely worth the extra $50. A lot of people compare it to mics that cost 5x more.

I like the Audio-Technica AT2035 on most vocals, as well as on drums, rooms, and guitars. It sounds pretty bad on my vocals (but I'm also a shit singer), but on most other people that know how to sing, it sounds good. Only $150, comes with a shockmount and soft pouch. I would say it has more more clarity and less warmth. If you're looking for warmth, MXL V67 is a better bet for on a budget.
