Transpose using midi controller?

You know the transpose button each clip has? Isn't there a way to control this with midi? Of course, it would have to work for all clips on that track.
Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem to work for me anyway.

Impossible to assign that control to MIDI currently. Makes, no sense, I know....

The only one I know of is Madshifta, but it is kind of dirty sounding.

The Apple AU pitchshifter is MIDI controllable in Live.. and free!

A real CPU hog, though.
