Converting midi to Audio

Post by Berlin22 » Fri Jan 10, 2014 7:52 pm

Ok so I finally got some good studio monitors and I am playing around with very basic mastering. My question is in Ableton what is the best way to convert for example an FM8 midi bass line into an audio stem while maintaining as much quality as possible. Should you just record it into another track? Export the audio completely out of ableton then drop it back in? Always been a bit nervous when i am freezing and flattening and I dont know how decent a conversion using the freeze method actually is. Thanks for the help!

Freeze track, create new audiotrack, copy clip to new audiotrack...now you have both :)

Well yes that's true I was just wondering if freezing verses recording verses exporting the audio will give you a higher quality :?:

If there is a difference it's unnoticeable,

But there probably isn't.
