Recommended good quality midi keyboard for Live
Re: Recommended good quality midi keyboard for Live
OK, I have got a Novation Impulse 61 and I'm happy with the keys, however the knobs could be much better IMO.

That's the problem, it's always about tradeoffs. I haven't seen one yet that work + quality knobs/faders + quality keys. They are always lacking something. Congrats though on the impulse, even though the knobs are not first-class, they work well imho.

My better half bought me the Impulse 49 for Christmas. I love it. Very dope and I highly recommend it.
I've had better luck with AutoMap on my Nocturn than the Impulse tho. Nothing a little midi mapping won't cure tho.

They must have. I almost bought the MKP49 on your recommendation when I was last in the states - but thankfully there was a display model and the action was horrible. So I saved myself a couple of hundred bucks. I would have been a very unhappy puppy!

Whew, close call, I would hate for you to be an unhappy puppy.

+1 for impulse.
remainding to all that I have an awesome script for Impulse.

but as you do not need knobs....
if you do not need to be semi-weighted and have knobs and stuff like that.
maybe you would go for something else.
