Multiple audio tracks to one effect

Post by jim110110 » Tue May 24, 2005 2:29 am

Hi everyone, I have (what could be a simple) question to do with audio tracks.

I have Audio Track A on Channel 1 and Audio Track B on Channel 2.

On Channel one I have an Auto Filter. On Channel 2, I have a gate effect I want associate with Track B. I would like to send Channel 2 (Track B) to Channel 1 so that both audio tracks can be filtered at the same time via the one auto filter, rather than having an auto filter on each and try to automate the filtering to exactly the same sequence...can this be done?

This is a practical question, as well as an attempt to save load on my CPU (eg why have two auto filters when you can have one) sort of thing.

Cheers for your thoughts
Jim

You can route both their outputs ("Audio To", you need to press ctrl-alt-i to see inputs and outputs if it's not visible) to a 3rd channel, and put the autofilter on that track. You'll also need to put track 3's monitor settings to "on".
