Adding your own samples to sample library +Hot Swap

Post by debrice » Sun Jan 19, 2014 10:41 pm

I had issues (both in Live 8 and 9) with adding my samples to the sample library. In the current version, I can only add my samples to the "places" section, therefore all the stuff in the sample library are Ableton samples. Is this as it should be? It doesn't seem right to me. The most frustrating thing about this is that I can't use Hot Swap when swapping from samples in the sample library to samples in places, and even between samples just withing places.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Try the User Library, it has a folder for "Samples" - you can organize them in subfolders, and if you name them propperly...

You can right-click on top of the Name panel and choose 'Location' for sorting. When you drag the panel a little wider you can even read the origin (pack names vs. User Library).
