Hi there,
I know it can't be done accurately and truly real time... But I'd like to hear your suggestions anyway for the 'best' real time audio to midi solution available. Hard or software...
Hope you can help!
Manuel

Midi guitar is both a vst and app. Look it up.
There are a lot of converters out there. Some better than others. There are limits. Multiple instruments or complex timbres can really screw with a midi conversion.

Ive been playing around with midi guitar and must say that its far from plug an play. Did not get good result when i was working with non guitar material. I want to work with voice and wind instruments mainly and because those are mono signals and pretty clean sinewaves I was hoping for a better result.
Looking at the Sonuus i2m now and ive noticed that it has a vox / wind setting also.
Does anybody have any experience with this device?
Thanks again!

Interesting. How would one go about to configure reaper to convert audio to midi?

You can also route the midi coming from reaper to live using a virtual midi port, which is kind of cool. It was a few years ago that I tried this, but there's enough documentation online to figure it out. There is a huge amount of latency though, so it's probably unusable for whatever you're trying to do.

Respectable old man solution ahead: Use your ears and practice. May not be immediate real time but I also highly doubt you’re not going to want instantly convert audio to MIDI that you’ve never heard before, not even once.
