First impression is excellent. Sounds really...different. I like the GUI concept of having most important functions
in the device view, if you want do dig deeper into your patch you have an extra window. Could be an interesting concept for all of Live's synth in future updates.

How is it for metallic timbres or stuff that sounds like borderline physical modelling?

I noticed that in the video. That seems very promising!!!!

a very good Synth! It's perfect for automation in the Live environment!A little bit like NI Prism, but with the MSP sound! But beware, it's a hungry beast

I'm sure I'm going to DOH after asking, but what is a "MSP" sound?

MSP Sound is the Sound from the MSP algorithm's for Oszilators,Filters etc. in Max/MSP.
I always found the Sound of MAX/MSP Devices special, so it is with NI Reaktor, it has also a
special character.Am I wrong? :?:

Just bought it five minutes ago: so far VERY impressed. Just trying out the dozens of presets and nearly every one is inspiring which I don't normally find with M4L instruments. The list of sound designers on this machine is impressive, starting with AAS expert Andre Ettema, via Christian Kleine and Maurizio Giri amongst others, and I shall be trying to add to their sounds over the next 200 years.

It's as detailed and sophisticated a layout of twiddly bits as Monolake's lovely Granulator, but I've never got anything particularly MUSICAL out of that: I prefer the lushness/harshness mix of this thing and feel it's worth the money. Only last week I spent just over half this on Utami's Geisterwelt and frankly it's a one-hit wonder and they already wrote it with their gorgeous demo. It's a fab art-generator though. For the money, this box is a runner.

By the way, I opened Darksynth in the Max Editor and it's not documented at all. It's also way above my skill level so I'll happily tweak away on some presets.

Watch this space http://www.flintpope.com Already lots of free Ableton stuff on-site.
