Lock Envelopes- the most under emphasized feature in Ableton

Post by m.nash » Sat Feb 15, 2014 10:43 pm

Any one else agree that tiny little lock icon is arguably one of the most important features in Ableton's workflows?

Like today, I spent 15 minutes trying to figure why the hell when I "Consolidate time to new scene" my automation levels were completely out of whack in the Session view. Turns out it's because I had Lock Envelopes selected, which is completely counterintuitive (what are the default levels of a session view scene?)

That there is no a key command for this yet is also a bit silly to me.

Anyone else agree? Is it just me or is this not one of the most important features in the app?

I think it's the #8 feature.

No it's #9. The #8 feature is PDC compensation.
