I'd still be hating Cubase's routing probably

The reason I came over to live wasn't so much the clip matrix (although its undeniably handy) , it was for the routing. Sending returns back on themselves, sending to busses, it was all much easier to handle than Cubase (of the time) constricting methods.

It's why I was so unimpressed when future developments of the "modular" part of the app got outsourced to to the university of overcomplexification. No more simple & powerful drag and drop, now we have an obtuse and idiosyncratic IDE. What could be more funky and immediate than revising how to reference the public properties of an object model walker.

The day the fun died.

Or rather, moved offices a few hundred metres down the road.

FL Studio, it's come a long way in the last couple of versions. Has an unusual workflow and GUI but once you figure it out it's quite intuitive and has a great piano roll. Very stable and has built in bridging. Routing is much more flexible in Live and the way you can chain instruments and effectd is far more intuitive than most other hosts i've used.

Yeah, that was pretty much my reason for using Live over Logic. So yeah, i would probably still be using Logic right now.

Probably Logic. Decent collection of instruments and plugins, good audio routing options that was more like the flexibility of a hardware patch bay unlike Cubase which horribly restricted to the point of being near useless (unless you had an external digital audio matrix to take care of that) back when I switched to Live 6.

I primarily use Logic despite the fact that Live actually exists. It has track icons.

Studio One. Light CPU, intuitive, and I like the Project versus Song aspect of organizing an album.

Something fast, simple, and pretty. So probably Fruity Loops.

Or maybe Studio One. Or Garage Band if I was on Mac.
