Vocals, Chants, Monks, Gothic Sounds..

Post by sounds » Mon Mar 03, 2014 11:05 pm

Where can I find some sound packs, VST's with these sort of vocal effects
Examples of the type of dark, gothic, godlike sounds i'm thinking about.
Those kind of vocals that can really make a good tune sound uplifting.
Sasha always seems to pull out tunes with fascinating, twisted vocals.
I love the sounds Moshic is putting out there lately.

A lot of those kinds of sounds are used in film and tv production too.

- Omnisphere has a lot of the choir and vocal pads.
- There's probably a lot of NI Kontakt sample packs for this kind of stuff.
- Search out what's available from the sample pack distributors like Loopmasters.
- Sample old films, tv, and radio.
- Hire a session vocalist, or sweet talk a choir member at your local church.

Also, experiment with a sampler to create a short loop on a vocal segment, which can be made to fade in/out slowly. Add a ton of reverb to give it ambience.

I can agree on Omnisphere. I was quite surprised by the amount of vocal stuff in there and it sounds quite good as all the Spectrasonics stuff does.

In the stock NI-K9U stuff I am not aware of much vocal stuff other than standard choir stuff but yes, there are probably many packs around.

Thank you guys for some cool feedback
That tune I used as an example, reminds me of an old classic
"Hold that sucker down" original version, such a nice uplift.

But yea those haunting choir vocals are something else.
