Using both sequencers in Rewire

Post by moussasfeir » Mon Apr 21, 2014 8:07 am

Hello,

I'm using Reason 7 as Rewire slave to Ableton Live 9.

I would like to process a recorded audio into some Reason's effects.
I know Rewire doesn't allow sending audio from Live to Reason, so I've put the audio directly into Reason's sequencer.

The problem is, sometimes Reason seems to stop reading from its sequencer and this audio track doesn't play at all. (this happens randomly, but only when Reason is in the background, i.e. when I'm looking at Live).
This problem remains also when I export to audio (it's ok at the beginning, but then it stops :( )
Is there a specific setting to apply in Reason or Ableton ?

I can still launch the audio with an NNXT but that's much less convenient.

Kind regards,

Moussa

Could be reason setting.... allow audio playback in background. make sure this is checked.
I've never tried using audio but sometimes will i use reason for automation as its much better than live at moving points fine amounts

Hello,

Thanks for your answer !
Unfortunately this does not solve my problem - this setting is already checked in Reason.

I got another answer from a Reason forum, which works:
Add a Live track that takes the audio output from the Reason effects, and record it while Reason is in the foreground.

It's also not very convenient but it works, so maybe it helps other readers in the future :)

Cheers,

Moussa
