There's also the new IK Multimedia "iRig Pads":

http://www.thomann.de/gb/ik_multimedia_irig_pads.htm

Still the PK wins for me (although with the irig it's nice to have a 30 pin iPad connection).

I understand that quneo comes with an ableton template but it seems to be only a launchpad simulator. Is there a way for me to map drum racks to the pads and be able to scroll through all 128 sample spaces in drum racks without re-mapping each time i use a different bank?

Yeah you can, I have assigned one of my up/down buttons to switch through pad banks (you can have 4 banks per preset), so you can get to 64 samples immediately. There are 16 presets which you can also switch through immediately, so a total of 16x64 or 1,024 sample triggers are available. There are several simple ways I can see setting this up, depending on how your session is designed.

You can map it any way you want. Preset 1 can run the Ableton APC40(ish) script. Presets 2-7 can be drum racks. Preset 8-11 can be each be 64x4 grids of notes (think 4 stacked piano's going up or down octaves. [be advised, they are adequate for note entry, but definitely won't replace a piano]). Presets 12-16 can be X/Y coordinate, pressure sensitive fx control pads (think 16 kaosspad in front of you!).

The trade off is that YOU have to perform the mapping for most of this in the editor. Those are just examples, but I do believe it is one of the most versatile controllers in existence.

KMI does have a turn key Launchpad preset, an APC40(ish) preset, and an odd one that is half drum rack/half implulse (which I changed to all 4x4 drum rack).

I just bought the iRig Pads and returned it the next day; exchanged for the MPC Element.

I wouldn't recommend the iRig Pads at all. The pads felt really squishy and the touch sensitivity sucked resulting in loads of missed ghost hits which I massively rely on with my finger drumming.

I bought the controller to connect to my iPad for making beats on the go and the MPC Element is GREAT. Plugged it in, loaded up iMPC Pro and spent the whole evening smashing out a new song. Pads felt great and very subtle.

I'll post back when I've hooked it up to Ableton Live and run it through it's paces.

Please do. I actually like the pads on the element. Feel better than my 2500
