Can you switch patterns on it with automation or sending it some sort of midi sidechain?

No. The good new is that we're currently working on the interface to do it, so it will be avaliable soon in a future update. I consider that feature pretty critical.

Unfortunately I cannot give you an exact time, but I can provide you a small roadmap: Second Midi tool, Pattern Switch, (Maybe third tool?), OSX version. Of course we can change our preferences, it depends about your requests. The more people ask for an OSX version, the sooner we'll develop it.

Hello,

This looks really interesting but I can't figure out what this adds to normal piano roll editing in a DAW. Could you elaborate on this a little more?

OS X version should be on the top of your roadmap...

I'm going to post here the aswer I gave to another man:
Nora is a "Midi effect". What Nora offers you is an editor like any host Piano Roll, but it isn't a piano roll. The idea is, you place some chords in your host, and then you process them with Nora and it's piano roll-like editor. Nora's main editor has X groups that contains Y notes each. Imagine you have just 1 group with 3 notes. If you place in your host some 3 notes chords, they will chop in the same way Nora editor is. Upper and bottom extra groups works in the same way, but pitching up/down an octave. Once you test it, you will understand the concept for sure
If you still struggle, let me know :)

Does this make phrases relative to chords you play into your daw?
