How to make a click track with metronome?

Post by Literary Mayhem » Tue May 20, 2014 10:53 am

I have Live Lite 8 Fender Edition.

I am trying to record my first complete song on my guitar with Abelton.

The song starts at 4/4 at100 bpm for 24 measures.

Then it switches to 3/4 at 120 bpm (not sure exactly how many measures yet, still need to count them)

It switches back to the beginning for 24 measures, then back to the second part and then ends with the beginning 24 measures.

I want to be able to set up a track using the metronome to keep the beat throughout the whole song, changing time signatures and BPM at the correct places and am not sure how to do this. I have searched on-line and haven't found anything that helps.

I am not interested in adding drums or other instruments I just want to be able to set up a metronome track to keep time.

1) Switch to Arrange view

2) In the top area (where you select the loop) right click and insert a new signature

3) On the Master track open a new automation lane and select Mixer->Song Tempo -> Draw the tempo change you want.

4) Then use the click or add a simple drum instrument for easier sound and volume adjustment
