Eish, another OS update. This is ridiculous 8O  Haven't we just upgraded to mav? which I am not particularly impressed with.

And for what? Translucency in toolbars? Consistency in fonts? They should call it OSX Wank.

When I was with OSX....EVERY SINGLE UPDATE borked something. Ugggg, I'm so happy that I'm not going through that. People whine about windows, but it's not like updates to the core program bork stuff so easily.

My 2c, go with what works. I didn't even know mavericks was really "solid" yet.

I think they just do it this way because it gives them another chance to tell the world how great they are.

What's the panic? By the time everyone DOES install Yosemite when it comes out, OS X PETALUMA will be announced.
An iPod, a phone, an internet communicator. An iPod, a phone, are you getting it?

Possible stability issues aside, you’re not going to be aware of all the upgrade features by just reading bloggers’ summaries. The Apple keynote on it was nearly 2 hours long and that didn’t cover all the features. Yes, about half of it was on iOS but we’re living in a time when computers and portable devices are extremely intertwined.

I was impressed but many of the features I won’t personally use (as well as many of the existing features). The reason the upgrades seem hyper frequent is because they announce it 3-4 months before release and then people don’t upgrade until 3-6 months later to be on the safe side. Then shortly after they are already announcing the next OS (3-4 months prior to release).

Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know I've installed 10.10 on my MacBook Air which I don't use often for music production thankfully! And CoreAudio is completely broken, Ableton Live doesn't launch and Pro Tools brings up this strange message and uses half my RAM! So if you only have one machine your using for music I would suggest holding of for the time being!

Logic Pro 9 works for me, Pro X will def work then.

Hi All,
This beta version that has been available for less than 24 hours is completely unusable for music production. I highly recommend not installing this upgrade that won’t be publically available until at least September anyway. Not all assholes run beta OS software on their main or only computer but if you do then you are an asshole.

Blah blah blah...
I just hope the Retina support improves. I never really understood the fuss until I sobered up during sessions. I thought I was just always tipsy.

On the other end of the spectrum, they could wait a very long time and do a massive update and break everything.

I'll bet Ableton (and other major software developers) will be on the forefront of testing this.

Because there's even a buzz with naysayers when it comes to Apple products.

In all probability this will be a solid update, I haven't noticed anything that bad in Mavericks but some people say it's a dud.
I think there's a pattern with both Windows and OSX in releasing good and bad upgrades on an odd, even basis.

Popular opinion anyway:
Leopard-
Snow Leopard +
Lion-
Mountain Lion +
Mavericks -

98 +
me -
XP+
Vista -
7 +
8 -
