OS X YOSEMITE compatibility with Live 9
Re: OS X YOSEMITE compatibility with Live 9
Developers have noticed the pre-release they downloaded (Yosemite) is not showing the RED icon of iTunes like the one they showed at WWDC 2014. They need to fix this now.

You're right! I'm sorry.beats me wrote:Fellas. FELLAS!!!!! Let’s get back to the serious business of monitoring the stability of an OS upgrade that isn’t going to be available to the general public for another 4 months.
It’s a free upgrade and as such it needs to be downloaded and installed on release day by law.
Also these threads are the only way developers know about the impending upgrade. Without them they would be totally unaware and it would be dropped on them on release day. We’re doing God’s work here.

I'm on OSX 10.10 and latest version of Ableton Live 9 crashes on startup, unfortunately. Logic Pro X is working fine. Latest version of Serato DJ is working fine as well. This is all I've tested so far.
I don't expect Ableton to release an official update until the Golden Master build of Yosemite is released to the public Maybe at that point we'll see OS X 10.10 and retina support, but maybe I'm just being hopeful.

I think we'll get retina support on Live this year. Too many voices have spoken about this.

A work-around for now is to just keep drinking until retina is fixed.Regrind wrote:Blah blah blah...
I just hope the Retina support improves. I never really understood the fuss until I sobered up during sessions. I thought I was just always tipsy.

Potentially due to some plugin?clowpro wrote:I'm on OSX 10.10 and latest version of Ableton Live 9 crashes on startup, unfortunately.
I can start Ableton, however the Browser seems broken (Doesn't display a thing)

Fresh install of 9.1.2 on OSX Yosemity beta 1. Starts fine, but like mattadms, the browser is blank. Tried renaming files.db and letting Ableton rebuild, but problem remains.
Can load sets and play them just fine, so (surprisingly?) at least basic Core Audio seems to be working.

Wondering if Yosemite's folders format changed somehow? Stay Tuned.mattadms wrote:Potentially due to some plugin?clowpro wrote:I'm on OSX 10.10 and latest version of Ableton Live 9 crashes on startup, unfortunately.

^ even if they did, isn't Live supposed to index the computer... not just the location where you put the files?

After removing files.db and having Ableton scan for packs, I have a fully populated packs list in the browser. No luck with instruments, audio effects, etc.

Apple permanently planting the podcasts icon on the iOS 8 screen is lame. What next, they permanently plant the iBooks icon on the Yosemite dock?

Ack, look at all that negative space. they need to auto-scale the icons, jeezus.

OR, make it customizable to the user.shadx312 wrote:Ack, look at all that negative space. they need to auto-scale the icons, jeezus.
