Fingz — Ableton Live touch controller

Post by Atmosphery » Thu Jun 19, 2014 11:19 am

Hello!

Fingz is an interface designed to control Ableton Live, with any type of (touch) screen, directly from your web browser.
It allows multiple connections to any computer running Live on the network.
So you can use it to jam and perform from different computers on the same Live set, or simply control Live with your fingers.

As version 0.1, you can access to:
- Transport buttons (time, play, stop, undo and redo)
- Clips grid (play, stop, record)
- Tracks buttons (mute, solo, arm)
- Tracks mixers (volume, pan, last send)
- Tracks first device parameters

You can download it from the "Projects" section of our website Atmosphery.
See setup instructions in zip folder.

Update: new 0.2 version.

This version is much more reactive, it uses Max for Live instead of LiveOSC which introduced latency.

You can download it from the "Projects" section of our website Atmosphery.
See setup instructions in zip folder.

Old 0.1 version si still available for non Max owners.

Hi, I've begun playing with this and it is very awesome, showing a lot of potential.

It is especially responsive and snappy. I also like how it can load on any device in the network without installing extra software on those devices.

Love to see where this goes.

Edit: also, had trouble using the up/down left/right arrows for session grid movement??

Thanks for your feedback!

There is actually one problem with clips grid navigation.
If the screen is splited to show volumes, pans, sends or devices parameters, you can't access to hidden clips, you have to return to clip view. I know it's a bit annnoying, i have to fix that.

But if you have tracks or scenes in your Live set which can't be displayed, navigation arrows should become active.
If you use the 0.2 version (Max for Live), you can choose in the Max for Live device how many tracks and scenes you want to control, then you have to turn off and on (yellow button on the left) to see changes.
