Live 9.1.x and Mac OS X 10.9.4, your first impressions?

Post by Stromkraft » Tue Jul 01, 2014 12:30 am

For those of you that fearlessly took the plunge last night and updated to OS X Mavericks 10.9.4, what are your first impressions with Live 9.1.x in this OS X 10.9 version?

I plan to update tomorrow or so, as I'm between studio dates and can revert if I have to.

I'm thinking stuff to check off is:
  • >Audio interface support. I got the RME babyface
  • >Ableton support. I'm quite comfortable with Live 9.1.3b9.
  • >Plugin support. I have Native Instruments Komplete 9 and Tremor primarily and a bunch of others as well.
What else would you check off?

If you updated, please report here. I will.

No-one has done the update yet? Can't find any reports on issues anywhere so either no-one has done it or no-one has had any issues...

Anyone who was successful let us know here too please!

Thanks!

I'm scared to do it. Since I updated to Mavericks, my MBP has been very slow. Lots of spinning beach balls and weird Ableton Live behavior. And even simple stuff like quitting Safari hangs my computer where before I never had a problem. 13" MBP with 8 gigs of RAM- it used to be a hot rod
iMac, MacBook Pro, Live Suite, Reason, Logic Pro, Melodyne, FL Studio, iConnect Audio4+, Little Martin, ukelele, Greco gtrs, pedalboard, amps, mics .

The Safari stuff sounds more like you need to clean out your caches and possibly delete prefs and/or repair permissions (which is standard procedure for post-installation anything).

With 10.9.3 I see little or no strange Live behavior, not in 9.1.2 nor in 9.1.3b9, except for what might have been present since Live 9.0.

Meaning you updated to OS X 10.9.4 with Live 9.1.3 and everything works for you as before?

I'm still waiting for proper cables for my Babyface. I postponed the update until I've made sure the audio interface works with OS X 10.9.3. I've already seen reports the Babyface works nicely with 10.9.4 though.

No issues here. Live 9.1.3 and OS X 10.9.4.

(I'm a developer but not tried it in 10.10 yet! Still remain to be convinced about certain elements of the new look.)

Thanks for your report. I just installed the 9.1.3 release yesterday. Judging from the betas Live 9.1.3 is a positive improvement.

Correctamundo. All my old issues are still there, and no new ones have appeared.
