Demons are scrolling left
Demons are scrolling left
In Session View I have an instrument I am working on that is #13. I need to scroll to get to it.
For some reason, every time I scroll to it, when I let go of the mouse, it scrolls back all by itself, one instrument at a time.
I have come to the conclusion that the unlucky instrument #13 has caused Live 9.1.3 to become possessed. Is there any other more logical explanation?

Re: Demons are scrolling left
I have no explanation, but this happens to me on occasions. I reported this in the beta, but got no response. This is annoying as hell when it happens. Terrible when you have shit loads of tracks and you want to move across the the right.
Just glad it does not happen frequently.

Yep.
Throw salt over your left shoulder, walk backwards in a circle clockwise three times, and clear your web browser. Then cross your fingers and restart Live.

Restarting Live has worked for me on the rare occasion this comes up.
If that doesn't do it, reboot.

Re: Demons are scrolling left
Yes, happens to me too.
OS X 10.6.8
Live Suite 9.1.4
I click on & drag the bottom scroll bar to the right.
I release the scroll bar.
Scroll bar moves back to the left on its own until it is full left.
If I click to the right of the scroll bar: it will jump to the right as expected, then move back to far left.
It will move to the left even if I'm still clicked on the scroll bar & holding it in place, something just takes control & moves the scroll bar.
If I resize the window the scroll bar will move to the far left.
Problem occurs in both full & non-full screen views.
Problem occurs with Live browser open or closed.
Occurred with Sends & Returns visible.
Any of you using Max for Live? Are you using a M4L Device Randomizer?
I documented the problem in two different sets that each had a randomizing device:
1. Device Randomizer.amxd - from the Max for Live Essentials pack.
2. Device Randomizer-L9.amxd - from xmonsta on the Maxforlive Device Library site.
While these two sets did have other M4L devices, I had not experienced the moving scroll bar problem before using Device Randomizers.
Other M4L devices in sets:
LFO.amxd - from the Max for Live Essentials pack.
Max Api SendsXnodes.amxd - from the M4L Building Tools pack.
Follow 3 LE EDIT.amxd - from S4racen on on the Maxforlive Device Library site.
Too bad it's occurring in Mavericks, I'm about to update & was hoping to leave this bug behind.

Re: Demons are scrolling left
this happens to me as well. i didn't realise it was a demon issue
Re: Demons are scrolling left
Still happens to me ocassionally as well. Ghosts in the machine
Re: Demons are scrolling left
The workaround is simple: Reduce the number of tracks
(troll!)
Ok, I can't currently reproduce this issue, but I'm sure I've run into it as I can remember having it.

Re: Demons are scrolling left
i bet it has something to do with rack tracks with "following" enabled on the instruments. don't quote me on this or anything.
Re: Demons are scrolling left
I am on PC, and have this issue without using any M4L randomizing devices. Pretty sure I had some kind of M4L device though.
I didn't know that it was a daemon issue either....

Re: Demons are scrolling left
I'll be damned.
I didn't experience it until recently on 9.1.4 after upgrading my cpu/mobo, doing a reinstall, and running my ps/2 touchpad w/o its native drivers (had to use a usb adapter in lieu of new mobo having only one ps/2 socket).
I assumed it was an artifact of my new hardware setup and not something in the program anyone else would experience.

Re: Demons are scrolling left
Anyone get this was NOT using Max for Live?
M4L has proven to be a bit of a dream come true/nightmare for me. And this demonic scrolling is exactly the kind of f*ing voodoo I expect from it.

Re: Demons are scrolling left
The bad part is that if you can reproduce it, and report it, they will just tell you to use asio4all and take away all your cool controller scripts.
