Is there any way I can copy some midi notes from within a clip and simply paste them into the exact same position in another clip?
Obviously I know how to copy and paste but can only seem to paste onto the grid wherever I may of clicked.
I'd like to paste in the exact same position if possible

Yes it's tricky because you have to select the exact spot you copied from.
In some cases it's easier to select all, paste and then delete what you don't want. You can also select all and then shift click to deselect the notes you don't want.

Tagor hit it. Just use the selector as the point of reference (in the new clip). Highlight an area where you have that standard reference point (you could highlight the whole clip but only hit the notes you want to copy). Or, you could duplicate the clip and add in what you want from something else. I don't know of a way to get around standard copy and paste.
Re: Can I copy and paste IN PLACE?
Thanks for the responses guys and this is what I've been doing anyway (just a standard copy and paste while trying to place the marker in the exact same position as the previous clip (many of my notes are off the grid).
I was hoping that Live would have a simple "paste in place" option so that I could paste in the exact same position (off the grid).
Nevermind, as long as I know it's not possible, I'm happy working around it
