Post by Blooms4x » Wed Aug 27, 2014 5:50 pm

Hi, I have been trying to figure out how to do this but nothing works. I am trying to drag and drop pre chopped samples into a drum rack slicing preset.

Here is a video of the issue im having with ableton live 9.

bump. Looking for a "Choke" all samples at once trick, since ableton doesn't support this feature.

hey there! the way i would do that is drag all the samples from the browser into arrange view, then ctrl+j to turn them into one file. I would then slice that file using the preset. Set the slice parameter to however long each sample is.

Try dropping the Drum Rack into your Defaults folder:
Defaults / Dropping samples / On Drum Rack

This should keep all the settings of the slicing preset for all samples dropped onto the Drum Rack

-Some of the samples are different in length :(

Not exactly the issue im having. Im looking to use samples that I have chopped in Audacity instead of using ableton's cumbersome Warp method of chopping samples. I've watched these videos in the past as well.

If you're taking the time to edit them, make them all the same length. I'm not sure what kind of files they are but you might be able to get away with slice by transient.

Last idea.
Consolidate all of them, but a warp maker at te beginning of each file, then slice by warp marker.

If it's only 16 samples each one of these processes is pretty doable I hope.
