Damn you for reminding me XSIman, damn you!

I've just recently used some of my ISA savings for Bazille.

Hope Ableton will upgrade Sampler some day with better Filters and Envelopes.

I got Bazille a couple of months ago congratz. Bazille PD bass with The Drop Roland SH filter is incredible. Well it's good with any it has. The Drop doesn't have an intro price so it will still be $99 months later.

Found out The Drop can be set up to replace the filter in any synth hardware or soft synth. Still trying to work it out so it behaves as if it was placed into the synth, it has the options for that.

A proper replacement part heh? Splendid.

How's it hammering the CPU so far though? I've still got the old beta demo from 2013. Pretty busy exploring / fighting with Bazille (it's a love / hate thing), so haven't yet really paired it in a full track to check out the audio crackles.

Just to add a little info that hasn't already been covered. The current version of The Drop (v1.0.4) is only available to existing customers, it has a brand new copy protection system that I want to roll out gently, so far there haven't been any issues but I prefer to take things slow. I'll add time limited trials soon. This is a big step up to the currently available v0.9.18 on the web page, the number of filter circuits modelled has increased, the tone is better, the modulation is more powerful, the gui is better, and the cpu lower. So you will get The Drop v1.0.4 if you buy it right now, but you can't trial it for a couple of weeks yet.

The Drop is a non-linear filter, so it will drive and growl and stay tight no matter what you do. All modulation is at audio rate and bandlimited which results in creamy smooth modulation without aliasing even when pushed ultra hard.

For clean and slow modulation you can use EQ8 with automation or Max for Live sources, but that modulation is control rate, which means you only get a new cutoff or resonance every 128 samples or so. This is ok for slower modulation, but what you get in The Drop is crisp and smooth for all modulation including ring modulation and FM. Also a linear filter doesn't add any tone to your source, it is clean and crystal clear, which is great for some things. If you want tone and weight and vibe you need non-linearities in your filter, which is what The Drop is all about.

Thanks for the extra info. I've also just realised that I would only need to use one (MAYBE two) of these per set. It would simply replace the master EQ8 that modulates dummy clips that all audio can be routed through in my custom LFO setup...fantastic...my CPU won't be strained too much.

Definitely a Xmas present for me. Can't wait to hear the updated version in action.

This sounds wonderful.
Is there a way to trigger the Envelope via MIDI while using it on a VST Instrument Track without creating a separate MIDI Track ?

We can all dream, but I won't get my hopes up.

But in case someone at Ableton is reading this (yeah right, I know... ):

A significant update to Sampler (without destroying what's great about it) would be the surest way to get me to upgrade to Live 10! 8)

Don't think there is I can only get it working with a midi track.

Official finished version is out next week just bug fixes I think.
