new usb soundcard
After many years of service, I am looking to retire my Edirol FA-101 and was looking to replace it with a newer USB soundcard. I was just wondering what guys were using for playing out live. I only really need something with 2 stereo outputs and MIDI in/out. Looking for something that is very reliable since I had some issues with my old one the last couple shows I've played. I'm currently using a Sony VAIO laptop with Ableton 8 and an Akai APC40 as well as some external synths. Any input would be appreciated.

I'd like to stay under $700, but if convinced otherwise I might spend more.

If you can afford rme, go fo it. If not the best cheap option are steinberg interfaces

Novation Audiohub coming out soon with Focusrite hardware inside it no midi sockets. It's a third of the price of the RME babyface I would rather have the RME Babyface though.

For Live I'm using NI Komplete Audio 6 with Ableton Live 9 + Push on MBP. Run like charm, has a nice build/interface for being used in the dark and easy to carry around.

I've been using a Roland Octa-Capture on my Windows machine, and it has performed absolutely flawlessly. So the question is whether the problems with your FA-101 came about because of Firewire problems, or you just don't think Roland is good enough.
