Hey guys -

Independent plugin developer here just getting the word out on one of our VST/AU plugs.

You can use this plugin to search soundcloud.com and freesound.org, and then drag-n-drop audio clips directly into your ableton projects. Also lets you access your iTunes library from within ableton.

Really useful, simple plugin.

Sounds cool, but do the soundcloud tracks have to be made available for download by the artist or can you just drag in any damn thing?

As an artist yourself you should respect the wish of the artists you want to use the music of. Or not?!

So I sincerly hope the answer is: YES, of course!

Yes, you are correct. You can only grab sounds that have been marked for public download by the artist.

Also - there is a filter for creative commons licensing (so you can limit your search to only items that are legal for reuse in commercial products, for example).

There is also a link to the artist for each clip, so you can email them and let them know if you do use their stuff, or go listen to the streaming stuff on their page, etc.

btw - The plugin automatically updates, there will be continuing improvements over the next few weeks.
