Detroit House classic sound

Hi

May my question gonna be a lil bit annoying but I try... I'm looking to create sound as I like in my influences and I don't find how to do this particuluar (I'm not sure but I think is it..) synth that we can usually hear in the detroit scene or another house tracks with artists like mike huckaby, MCDE, moodymann, Mr Ks, etc...

Are you talking about the rhodes in the song titled Rhodes?

All of these sound like a sample of a long running chord from an instrumental passage (you can get this from classical, jazz, soul, rock, you name it)

It sounds like the chord is key mapped, and played chromatically. You could get something like this by dragging a sample of a chord into ableton's simpler. The trick is that there are little flourishes in the way they play the notes. Some of these sound like the sample is reversed. Other sound like the volume of the sample is being tweaked, or a filter on the sample is being tweaked, or both, to make the musical passage more lively.

another old school technique is to play a chord with a synth, run through some effects (like chorus, flanger, reverb, delay, etc.) -- you play that chord or single note and sample that sound with the effects fused into the sound. Then play melodic passages with the sampled sound instead of the synth. This gets interesting if you use a sampler that has some grit to it. The ableton "sampler" (not "simpler" but rather "sampler") can get some good grit if you turn interpolation to "off" -- the grit can get pretty interesting when you do pitch bends.

Another trick is to do this stuff above, but sample a mix of two different sounds together. Like a bass synth plus a pad synth, mixed together into one sample.
