Different EQ plugins

Post by armadeus95 » Mon Oct 13, 2014 2:20 pm

Hey guys,
I've only recently started using Ableton (i had studio one before) and noticing that I'm not a big fan of EQ 3. I wish I could upgrade to EQ 8 but being on a student budget, it's a little difficult.
Is there anything else I could use that I could connect to Ableton to use? I'm a bit new to producing my own music so any help would be great!!

WTF Abe's charging for EQ8 now

Could you find a copy of old Live Lite 7 or something that gave you EQ8 and then upgrade to L9 version? Seems to me then you'd get to use EQ8? Am I wrong?

If you are Windows, Reaper offers a free version of their stock plug-ins and Rea-EQ is actually pretty nice.

EQ8 in Live 9 is upgraded version of eq8. I think they are licensing the algorithm from Cytomic, , so I can see why they would charge for it. It's kickass.

My antiviral software is blocking me from getting these plugins?
a little odd because i downloaded reaper ages ago without any problems

I've tried the other plugins people have suggested but i cant seem to open them up in ableton? or let alone actually open up the eq??? I'm a little confused on how to do this!
