Anyone planning on getting the new Electribe?
Anyone planning on getting the new Electribe?
I had a EMX-1 a back in 2006...loved the sound of it but it was stolen in 2009 and I never replaced it.... so needless to say the Electribe 2 has piqued my interest, especially with the Ableton integration.
Anyone else planning on getting one?

I'm very interested in the Electribe Sampler, but will wait for reviews and some hands on time in my music store.

I should've known

Waiting for more information, but I'm definitely interested. Export to Live is a big carrot.
Re: Anyone planning on getting the new Electribe?
I have mine on pre-order but I have 2 concerns-
1. I'm hoping it will do midi over USB that in the event I want to
use it as a "module" I don't have to buy the extra cable.
2. I'm also hoping it will do the "export to Live" feature over USB as
well so I don't have to buy an external card reader for my computer.
I can't see why it wouldn't do both of these but you never know.

The midi cable comes with it for free. So far it's only export to SD card, but I too hope they add USB options for this.

Hmmm so what would the USB port be for? I would assume/hope that it becomes a SD card reader in a specific mode.Tarekith wrote:The midi cable comes with it for free. So far it's only export to SD card, but I too hope they add USB options for this.

No idea, the manual isn't complete yet it looks like, so perhaps it will change. Only going on what I've heard in the preview interviews so far.

Ok gotcha. The Sweetwater product page seems to give the impression that the USB connection will be used to transfer data to Live. But I'm not completely certain because the language is a little ambiguous. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Looks like the same one that's been out for a couple weeks, still no synth parameter specifications

Hmmmmm, I hope you're right but I'm thinking that's the finished manual. If I'm not mistaken my EMX-1's manual was short and sweet as this one is. I don't think there is much else to go into. Do you feel like it's missing more vital details concerning the synth aspect of things?
Re: Anyone planning on getting the new Electribe?
Korg's strategy for their synths is to break the manual up into multiple volumes.
microKorg has three:
Easy Start Guide
Owners Manual
MIDI Implementation
Kronos has six :
Quick Start Guide
Parameter Guide
Voice Name List
Update and Restore Guide
External Setups Guide
SysEx documentation
The EMX-1 had three volumes plus a fourth for the SD version.
I suspect one or two more volumes for the new Electribe will be forthcoming.
