Freeze Behavior and Sampling frequencies...

Post by erikomic » Wed Oct 29, 2014 6:03 pm

Hi all,

here's my latest interrogation concerning frozen tracks.

When you freeze a track it can take a while since it is recording a temporary waveform with all effexes of the track to "lighten up" the way plugins weights on the CPU.

So as i understand it, you guarantee Live you(re just going to play that file (with eventually a change of volume...) and so all track frozen are making the overall CPU drop.

Cool, working fine with me.

Okay here's the thing :

What happens to frozen tracks if you want to make an upper Sampling Rate (it says "In/out" in preferences).
Let's say you've recorded or imported quite a lot of different sampling rates files.
You've worked on your session in 44.1Khz.
But then you want to make physical premixes so you upgrade the session to 96Khz...

It doesn't seem to recalculate any Frozen tracks.
The Live help is quite vague about it...

Someone ?
Thx for wondering too....
