Max for live Java SE6 / mac OS X Yosemite update?

I just installed the OS X Yosemite update and now Maxforlive is asking for me to install Java SE 6. I've already got Java SE 8 installed...

i just updated Maxforlive on their Cycling 74 website. still not working... can someone help?
"To open "this Java application" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime."

Interestingly, yesterday I too was trying to install java from apple, and was unable. It finally came back up after a while though.
