I remember using something like this in the Trocadero in London in the eighties. Hard to believe it's taken this long to get to market.

Whats with the chromatic aberration at the edges of the Ableton window? Is that: visible in the goggles / a problem?

Excellent eyes chum, that is indeed chromatic aberration, and one of the awesome things about Oculus. In a nutshell, it's software correction for hardware (lenses) issues. Without me understanding too much about it, they've found a way to compensate for things that happen visually when you try and do things like this. Much like watching a 3d movie without the glasses I think. When you put the rift on, it all disappears and looks crystal clear.
