Acid Pro features in Live?

Post by Airbase » Tue Jun 14, 2005 2:08 pm

Second topic of the day.

I rewire Live and Acid to be able to do the slice and dicing in Acid. Maybe there is a simple way to do this in Live, does anybody know? Like slice a loop by the warp markers or something, and be able to use each zone as a percussion (in other words, using the different slices of a loop as a percussion set)?

Also, is there, like in Acid, some easy way to reverse parts of loops?

Chop the loop in arrangement view, drop each slice into an impulse cell. Set each cell to gate mode. Program a MIDI clip to trigger the cells in any order you like.

Not as sophisticated as something like Phatmatic or Acid (I guess, never used Acid) but it works ok.

Otherwise a dedicated VST/AU plugin slicer like Phatmatic or Micro Dicer will do the trick without any rewiring. Will also allow you to reverse individual slices. Costs money though.

I tried both those out yesterday, but i realised that they only work with midi input. I want something that I can manipulate on audio channels as well (sometimes also on the master output). I tried the supatrigger once, but it wasnt as user definable as I was hoping for, it's more or less a surprise plugin where you will get new results every time you let it work. I want to be able to customize every single litte bit.

But thanks for the tip though!

Ah, you want to be able to loop a slice on the fly? You could always try:

Phutboyslim:

Both these are tempo synched "instant loopers". No rearranging slices on the fly though.
