12 inch or 10 inch subwoofer/Subwoofer suggestions.
So I just bought some JBL LSR 5 inch monitors. I figured they would be fine as opposed to the 8 inch since I plan on getting a subwoofer. I have heard though that there is definitely going to be a difference between a 10 inch or 12 inch sub. Seems like if it goes down to 36 hz I should be fine but what is ya'lls experience? Any recommendations would be nice. I just need something that is going to translate well in a club when dealing with heavy sub bass.

the best addition I ever made to my monitoring setup (a pair of adam a77x's) was the JBL LSR310S, a 10 inch sub. Great price ($400) and very high quality

That one is definitely on the list. Do you make "bass music?"

I make boom bap type stuff so yea the low end is very important to me
Re: 12 inch or 10 inch subwoofer
You can't guarantee a 12" sub will go lower than a 10". It depends on the actual design of the sub.
So the best way to choose, as with any speaker purchase, is go listen to it before you buy it.

Re: 12 inch or 10 inch subwoofer
Unfortunately that's not possible with me living out in the woods right now, pretty far from anywhere that has pro audio gear. Also don't have a car! Long story.
I kind of trust that JBL will put forth a good product. Kinda iffy on KRK since I'll be out here in the middle of nowhere and they can be a bitch to repair but I hear good things about their subs. Looking at Adams because from what I can see they are a fairly reputable and serious company. The size is going to matter since it'll mean more air moving through the thing. I'm definitely not closed to getting a ten inch as long as it translates well to a club since that's where I'm aiming some of my stuff right now. I have some folks interested in some future bass style stuff I've been working on and I want to be sure it translates well.

Get the JBL and spend the extra cash you don't spend on an Adam Sub on these
