Reaktor (midi Chan. Message problem)

Post by spoot088 » Wed Dec 31, 2014 2:35 am

i'm using the chan. message module to output midi in ableton live. the "ch" in port does not seem to work. No matter what value I put in Chan. Message outputs midi on channel 0. (or 1 depending on how its counted, i think).

i've look online before posting this thread but mostly its just scarce documentation that often references versions of reaktors that came out years ago. I found some forum threads where other people seem to complain about the same thing. Some saying it is an internal midi processing bug inside of reaktor.

so my question is is that the case? and if so, is there another way i can split my various reaktor tracks by midi channel?

It's a general limitation of Live that midi output from plugins can't be separated by channel.

Some plugins (not Reaktor) provide a workaround by sending midi out on virtual ports.
But this method is problematic anyway as it doesn't ensure accurate timing.

if it is a limitation of live than why doesn't the channel change be represented within reaktor.

i'm got a midi instrument sending on channel 2 and a midi monitoring module that reads out channel 1.

this is all inside of one reaktor instance yet the channel doesn't change/ or is not represented as having changed.
